Medical Spanish in the tropical beauty of Costa Rica

Learning Spanish has never been so fun! This five Day course will teach you basic communication skills in Spanish, give you immersion Spanish experience, provide you with a relaxing tax deductible vacation in Costa Rica and give you 20 continuing education contact hours.  Upon completion of this course you will be able to complete a basic health history, review of systems and  assessment with the Spanish Speaking client. The course fee includes a handy reference test for further study and use on the job.

Your fun begins with a pre class trip to the Magic that is Volcano Arenal, the world's most Active volcano . Oct. 16-17 we will relax in the well apportioned Volcano lodge, enjoying its fantastic view of the nightly natural "fireworks" display ( weather permitting), enjoy the best in food, gardens, hiking trails, bird watching, hot tub and swimming pool.  Guided day and night hikes and horseback riding are also available. After enjoying the splendor and natural beauty of Arenal Volcano, the enjoyable learning continues with the course itself.

Oct. 18- 22, the Medical Spanish course starts at a lovely hot springs resort in the fresh country air of Costa Rica's mountains. Over the next 5 days you will immerse yourself in the geothermal healing waters and the culture and language of Costa Rica.  With 20 hours of class time spread out over 5 days there will be plenty of time for soaking, eating, having tropical drinks at the swim up bar, steam baths, sun baths, and volleyball games. We'll take a trip to a local pharmacy, grocery and clinic, to see what is available and how it all works.

The schedule for this time is easy: Learn, soak, Learn, lounge, Learn, eat & drink, and learn some more. Enjoy soaking in a choice of pools from hot to cool  or take a steam bath in the volcanic steam sauna, slide down the hot water slide, or stroll the garden while enjoying the breathtaking views of volcano Miravalles and the rainforest. Volcanic mud treatments, massage and spa therapies are also available nearby, in the off class hours of course. There is an optional day trip to the higher mountain rainforest to hike, ride horses, or relax and just enjoy the farm, food, animals and lifestyle.

Although class will be officially over Friday October 22nd, the fun continues with an optional extension trip to the beach. First we stop in Liberia, capital city of Guanacaste, for a little tour of downtown, see the markets and test drive your Spanish. The post course trip will then continue to Playa Grande, "the big beach", for fun in the sun and waves, on this world renound surfing beach. There are many things to do in Playa Grande besides surf such as wildlife viewing, rare mangrove forests & boat tours, snorkeling, relaxing and the "muy calliente" night life of Tamarindo is minutes away, just across the bay. Playa Grande is one of a very few beaches in the world that the Leatherback sea turtles lays eggs at, and if your lucky you can see one of these magnificent huge endangered turtles.
